It’s not a secret that Berlin has an event’s agenda that obliges you to have not only one, but at least two Doppelgängers! It’s always a hard task to decide what to do and we also struggle a bit every end of the week. To help you make the best choices, we have started doing a “What to do this weekend guide!”
The highlights for this “What to do this weekend guide” are the opening of the group show “Body Performance” at the Helmut Newton Foundation; the talk with Sven Marquardt & Marcel Dettmann inside the exhibition “No Photo on the Dancefloor” at C/O Berlin; the Queer XMas Markt; the Nightlife Conference; the 1 year party of Shitlabel; the last Roda de Feijoada of the year and the Herbie Hancock and Hot Chip’s concerts. And if you like Christmas markets, check out our special “Best Christmas Markets in Berlin” guide here.

Politics of Love #6 | SoftnessI
n this year’s festival-edition of The Future is Female, we deal with questions of vulnerability, emotionality and seriousness. The current tendency towards softness as a performance strategy and as a gender-queer styling trend contains contradictions and raises questions: Can the new softness live up to its claim of alternative political principles of care and realize its refusal of gender dualisms? Or has it long been subject to a neoliberal logic that runs counter to its critical potential? Which conditions need to be given to oppose the hardness of current sexist and neo-fascist tendencies in a way that’s both gentle and determined? An evening about queerfeminist strategies between aesthetics and politics.
