THE COVEN COCKTAIL BAR is a refreshing addition the Berlin Gay Bar scene. Most gay bars in town will offer average drink options. Not here. Cocktails at the Coven are prepared with care and craft. Opened in September 2014, if they keep up the great work, this bar is sure to stick and become a reference in Berlin’s cocktail scene (gay or not).THE COVEN COCKTAIL BAR

The cool manly bar is the creation of two of Prinzknecht’s top barmen (partners Armand Manukyan and Kay Arama). To get here just take either the S-Bahn (or Tram) to Hackeschermarkt. Once you get to the address, just ring the door bell. The staff is friendly and welcoming. And girls are also welcome. We must admit, however, that we have yet to spot a girl here.coven1

The design by Thilo Reich is sleek, minimalistic, chic and dark. Steel, mesh, wood and super cool lighting really make this space very atmospheric and inviting. We particularly like the giant dark beetle stencil art on one of the walls. Keep an eye out on their Website/Facebook Page for special events with great DJs.

Not only does the design feel super manly, the crowd is also often manly. Although it can vary somewhat night by night, this place does tend to attract somewhat attractive, hip and manly guys. That is NOT to say that anyone would feel welcome here.THE COVEN COCKTAIL BAR

Expect a smokey environment (especially as the night progresses) as this is a smoke friendly bar (very common among the coolest bars in Berlin).
