If the Mittelstand companies (small and medium-sized enterprises characterized by a common set of values and management practices) are part of the German economical landscape, the soap manufacturer Klar Seifen is definitely one of their most prominent examples.
Founded in 1840 by Philipp Klar in the Heidelberg area, Klar Seifen is a successful history of tradition and innovation. The bar soaps and shampoos recipes date from 180 years ago and some of them are made using old machines and work by hand in several steps of production. And for today – and for the future -, the new headquarters in the south of Germany are equipped with a photovoltaic system that generates all energy required for the production!
Besides that, the 19th century company is updated for the challenges the 21st century imposes: Almost all Klar soaps are produced using organic ingredients, vegan (made with olive oil sourced in Europe, instead of palm oil!), without animal testing (PETA certified since 2021!) and plastic free. It can’t get more sustainable than this!

Also, it’s impossible to pass unnoticed by the quality and passion with which the soaps are produced, from the choice of the raw materials to the beautifully designed paper packagings.
Besides classics like the cord and retro (that we particularly love!) soaps, Klar Seifen is expanding their products offer to include in their line laundry powder (for colored and white laundry), deodorant, candle and nail brush, made of regional beech wood with bristles from the agave tree, instead of the commonly used pig bristles. Isn’t it amazing?

And as if all of this wasn’t enough, we are happy to announce that Klar Seifen opened a new shop in Berlin, located just a stone throw away from Hackescher Markt, in Mitte. There you will be sure to find very competent sale advisors to help you find the suitable products that best meet your needs and… wishes!
