There’s nothing new about having delicious Turkish food in Berlin. It’s like having delicious Japanese food in São Paulo. Or amazing Mexican food in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Well, you get the picture. What is special about CONFISERIE ORIENTALE TURKISH SWEET TREATS is that it takes Turkish sweet treats to another level of sophistication. If you want the “street” Turkish treats, this is not the place for you. It is a great place to sample some refined Turkish sweets in the Gallery district area in Berlin Mitte.
Whether you are familiar or not with Turkish treats just take your pick. Multicolor, multi-flavor marzipan and lokum (Turkish delight) produced by Cemilzade, a more than 100-year-old confectionary in Instambul. And not all of them have that rose water aftertaste! Add to that homemade cakes and pastries. We usually go for the coconut pistachio biscuits and OF COURSE, our favourite, the “Choklava” (chocolate Baklava). YUM! There is also a selection of Turkish teas from samovar or a tiny cup of Turkish coffee.
CONFISERIE ORIENTALE is beautifully decorated. The ambiance is airy with white walls. Except for one wall, which is covered in golden mosaic tiles. After all, this is a Turkish establishment! What did you expect? The sitting area is very cozy and inviting. Spend some time sampling some of the best turkish sweets in town!
Make sure you explore the area around Linientrasse with its interesting art galleries, restaurants, cafés, shops and courtyards. Explore the courtyards!!
