A Vietnamese deli in the heart of Mitte. We love it. There’s something about Vietnamese food…don’t you think? It is super fresh tasting, diverse and interesting. We are particularly in love with the Bánh Mì options. They are fresh baguette sandwiches filled with yummy meat (oven-roasted seasoned pork or chicken), fresh cucumber slices, coriander, pickled carrots and daikon. Add to that a spicy chili sauce and mayonnaise. It is simply sensational! If you haven’t tried it yet, you simply must.
At Cô Cô Banh Mi Deli it is as good as it gets. Located around Rosenthaler Platz (one of the coolest areas in town), this place serves up a few different types of Banh Mi as well as some rice bowl dishes and salads. Our favourite is the grilled chicken Bánh Mì with extra chicken pâté. Ask for extra chili (if you like it spicy like we do). But you don’t have to go all in. They also offer vegetarian options, in case you are into that.
The place is very nicely decorated and well lit. Ask the staff if you can eat in their inner (somewhat hidden) courtyard if the weather is warm enough. Otherwise have a sit facing the street and watch the trams go by while sipping on your tea and eating this slice of heaven called Bánh Mì. This is a cool area for people watching as well!
After eating your sandwich, walk around this wonderful area of Mitte and explore as many inner courtyards, art galleries, shops as you can!
