We can’t get enough of THE STORE @ SOHO HOUSE! Although, the concept of multi-purpose/concept space is not something new, “The Store” presents that concept in a unique way. Imagine a space where food, art, working space, design, kitchen, beauty, garden, music, library and more meet. That’s what they deliver! Beautifully!
This exciting space is located on the ground floor of Soho House, a members only club. Do not worry, though. No membership is necessary to access The Store. Find this space in an area between Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg. Your best bet to get here is to either take the subway to Alexanderplatz or Rosenthaler Platz and then either walk or take the tram for one station. Find yourself on the corner of Prenzlauer Allee and Torstrasse. Make sure to observe the building itself. It was once home to a Jewish department store and later on headquarters of the Communist Party’s Central Committee. We love it!
Once you enter The Store (ground floor, right hand side), you are bombarded with coolness. From the ample space and design elements to the people that come here. Everything exudes coolness. Make sure to explore the various spaces. We are particularly drawn to the vinyl turn tables, the hair salon (way in the back) and the restaurant/café areas.
Normally we stop here for a healthy lunch, fresh pressed juice and great coffee (AND to people watch). The salad bar is simply sublime. Currently, it is our favourite in town. It is a good idea to order a mixed salad plate and sample a few of the salads at once. So fresh. So delicious. I am salivating right now! The quality of the ingredients, the beautiful flavours and the care with which they are prepared has won our hearts.
They currently open for breakfast and lunch but will soon be open for dinner as well (we can’t wait). Make sure to stick around, read a book, bring your computer and enjoy a fabulous afternoon. If you are in the mood for walking, make sure to explore Torstrasse, full of quirky fashion and design shops.
