Shiso Burger is a cute and upbeat burger joint located in the heart of Berlin Gallery District along Augustrasse. It makes for a perfect lunch/casual dinner stop if you’re in the area enjoying some of the more established contemporary art spots in Mitte. The place has a young vibe and has elements of Japanese and Korean culture. Some of the walls are covered with pinned paper drawings with fun references to burger culture around the world. You can watch the chefs in action through the see-through glass kitchen (we always like those).
Japanese and Korean elements are also reflected on the menu, which offers bulgogi, shiso and ebi burgers (small portions) among some other more traditional burgers and salads. There are two veggie burger options if you’re into that. Side dishes range from coleslaw, sweet potato fries and kimchi among others. A good selection of teas and beverages are also offered. The dessert menu is limited to Mochi and the tasty Green Tea ice cream.
If you catch yourself craving a burger around the Gallery District, Shiso Burger is definitely and option you should consider. For a more casual and social experience (weather permitting), sit outside on one of the shared tables on the sidewalk. You may even make new friends!
