Hands down the best ramen (noodle soup dish) in town. Cocolo Authentic Japanese Ramen has two locations. The original location in Mitte is tiny and very atmospheric. The entrance is not clearly market so look for the neon lights saying “Next to…”. They are located next to Kuchi, a fun and casual Japanese retaurant we also love.
The Kreuzberg restaurant is located along the atmospheric Paul-Lincke-Ufer. It has significant more room than the original. Both locations offer outside seating for good weather days. But when it comes to ramen, we think that it is the perfect food for cold and crappy weather days!
The menu centers around delicious Ramen noodle options and appetizers. We have tried pretty much all ramen options ranging from the soy-based Shoyu to the fantastically spicy TanTan. We love TanTan! Do try their appetizers, they are also delicious!
Cocolo “Authentic Japanese Ramen” is very casual and always busy. The interior design is very cool and does a great job at mimicking authentic ramen joints you would find in any Japanese city. If you want to go “Japanese” make sure you sit on the counter. Watch the very busy staff prepare your delectable ramen!
Make sure to explore the galleries and courtyards around Augustrasse before or after this hearty meal!
