Over the past years, the Sharlie Cheen bar has become an institution at Rosenthaler Platz, renowned for its delicious cocktails served in an atmospheric setting. Now the creative team behind the bar expands its creations to Torstrasse, with its pop-up bar Emi Wynehouse.

Since the first of August, you have the opportunity to enjoy luscious cocktails in an artsy and relaxed atmosphere, located just a few streets away from busy Rosenthaler Platz. This special atmosphere makes Emi Wynehouse a great complementary to Sharlie Cheen, covering you for those nights when you’re looking for a more easy drinking experience. The new pop-up bar offers a variety of refreshments, from classic drinks reimagined as high ballers to signature drinks, making the most out of homemade aroma infusions and syrups.

While approaching the bar, you are already struck by the art installations illuminating the bar. Currently the walls, as well as the ceiling, show pieces of the tape art collective KlebeBande. One of their most famous projects, the eye that covers the wall at the Holzmarkt, is projected to the ceiling, observing guests from above. The art installations are an essential part of the Emi Wynehouse concept. Later this year – in December – photographer Christian Schmidt will exhibit his latest pieces.

We had the chance to try different cocktails from the menu. Prices for the drinks range between 9€ and 12€. Our picks were the Bergamot Sour and the Tarragon with gin, elderflower and lime. The Emi Wynehouse bar is definitely a great addition to the Torstrasse and we are looking forward to visit it again to check out the next art installation!

The pop-up bar will be opened for one year, until August 31st, 2020.
