Café Neun is a darling coffee place along one of the entrances of Markthalle Neun (one of our favourite market halls in the city). Not many visitors get to experience this amazing coffee shop. Most people get seduced by what goes on inside the market hall (and the awesome events they put out) and end up not noticing this gem of a place. Café Neun is more of a local hang out (we love that it is!).
These guys serve real coffee. You can order your flat white, an aeropauses or even a cold brew. They use great beans and the staff is super skilful. Our flat whites have always been superbly prepared here. Not to mention the key words: friendly and laid back. There is also a selection of savoury and sweet treats available at the Café (mostly sourced from the vendors inside the market hall).
Café Neun has a distinct casual yet interesting design with true industrial elements. We particularly like the bright green accents and lamps. Whether you choose to sit inside and gaze out onto the street, or to sit outside and soak up the sun, Café Neun delivers a true Kreuzberg experience. Add to that some of the yummiest coffee in town…how can you not love it?!
We always stop by Café Neun before going into the market hall. There’s something to be said about having your perfect coffee drink while looking for some yummy food from some of the best food vendors in town. Especially when it is “Breakfast Market” Sunday (every Third Sunday of the month).
When in the area, make sure to explore Kunsthaus Bethanien (an old Hospital turned art space) just a few blocks away from Café Neun.
