Monkey Bar

If you are looking for a bar with a view in Berlin, this is definitely one of the top options. Monkey Bar is located on the last floor of a high-rise boutique hotel facing the Berlin Zoo and the monkeys (hence the name). As you arrive at the cool and deconstructed hotel lobby (there is even a vintage car in the center and some hanging bikes) you should take the elevator to the 10th floor. Make a left and you are at Neni Berlin restaurant. Make a right and you arrive at the Monkey Bar.

You will be immediately taken by the amplitude of the view. The setting is gorgeous. Monkey Bar has a super loungy and comfy feel that invites everyone to simply relax and enjoy. Of course, if we could recommend a time to visit, that would be during sundown. But I guess that’s also when the bar is at its full capacity. So be smart about it.

The crowd can be super mixed and sometimes a little awkward as quite a few people come here more for the view than for the drinks. That should not stop you from experiencing this bar. The cocktail menu is focused on traditionally recognized drinks and also offers some beer options. The waiting staff is friendly (if sometimes too busy) and the bar staff is consistent and competent.

If you are not too shy, try visiting their all glass restroooms. A monkey or two might see you do “your business”. But hey…it’s Berlin.Relax. No one cares.

What we like to do at Monkey Bar: lounge around and enjoy the view (while sipping some alcohol).

I am sorry you had a bad experience with the staff. I have not had any problems so far.
