Berlin Shopping Guide – Torstrasse a cool street in Mitte

Torstrasse is one of the main streets of the Mitte neighborhood and is one of the addresses with the coolest local shops in Berlin. Be forewarned: Torstrasse is not particularly pretty, nor glamourous, but it does have a few great surprises if you can look past the scruffy façades. If you are looking for mainstream shopping options, check out Friedrichstrasse (Mitte), Kurfürstendamm (Charlottenburg) or Schloßstrasse (Steglitz).

Also, before you walk down Torstrasse, check out the store opening hours (each store has a link to its main page) as they often open at irregular hours and usually after 12PM.

The “shopping mile” starts on Prenzlauer Allee and ends right at the crossing where Friedrichstrasse changes its name to Chausseestrasse. A fun fact about this shopping itinerary: halfway through, you will run into one of our favorite nightlife hubs: Rosenthaler Platz.

The 2 Km extension boulevard has a lot to offer if you want to fill up your lugagge before heading home. This is also a fun walk if you just want to feast your eyes and soak up some of Berlin’s style.

“The Berlin Shopping Guide – Torstrasse” was conceived with the route starting at Prenzlauerberg and moving towards Mitte. Of course, feel free to start hitting the shops from wherever is most convenient to you.

Additionally, we have created an interactive map to help you with your planning (end of the article). So knock yourself out and enjoy some of the best options for shopping in Mitte!

This concept store on steroids is one of the Berlin’s highlights when looking for a great shopping experience. Whether you are looking for fashion, music, design and books. The Store is located on the ground floor of Soho House, an exclusive hotel/private club. Good news is that you do not need to be a member to enjoy this fun shopping space!

On his seven-year birthday, he won a terrestrial globe and shortly afterwards he knew by heart the name of (almost) all the capitals of the world’s countries. He lived in Paris for four years and since 2014 has been calling Berlin home. Really bad in sense of direction, he always ends up getting lost in the cross streets and finding that cafe or shop that you will only see indicated in the edition of a travel guide the next year.
