We love love love love the THAI PARK. Basically it is a park in the otherwise “not so happening” neighborhood of Wilmersdorf where Thai families gather around enjoying the sun and home cooked Thai food. And we are all invited! Always! As long we you are willing to pay for it, of course (you will most likely spend less than €10).
Just look for the colorful umbrellas. That is where the food action takes place. It happens everyday, but we do recommend coming on weekends as it is when most vendors show up. Sundays are the busiest day and the most fun. Sundays are the busiest day and the most fun.
We feel we could come here every week and would never get tired of the food and the experience. Whether you live in the city or are just visiting and you enjoy Thai food, you simply HAVE to come to THAI PARK.
Just walk around the vendors and sample an array of homemade traditional thai dishes. Observe them making some of the dishes and decide for yourself what you are in the mood for trying. Steamed buns, papaya and mango salads, noodle soups, curries…the options can be overwhelming but just go with your gut instinct. And do not forget to try some of the very sweet crazy colorful desserts!
Right by the THAI PARK there is a small but decent flea market on weekends so it could be a fun idea to explore both!
What we like to order at THAI PARK: Green papaya salad (Som Tam) + anything fried + crazy colorful sweets
