We ended up at SCOTCH & SOFA NEIGHBORHOOD BAR by accident. While walking along Kollwitzstrasse in the pretty Prenzlauer Berg neighborhood. What we saw from the sidewalk was irresistible. Coziness, great lighting, comfortable seating arrangements and a super cool and quirky bar area.
We sat at the bar and were hypnotised by the somewhat intricate, eclectic design and atmosphere. We particularly love the clashing wallpaper, the 50s television sets. There are quite a few comfy sofas and chairs, if you are looking for a more comfy type of evening.
The staff is super friendly and attentive. The cocktail menu is quite decent and the quality is also good. Whisky is the drink of the hour and they do have quite a range on offer. If you are going for cocktails, go for the whisky based ones. Our Manhattan was super good! At Scotch & Sofa one can get good bang for the buck. This place is a great option if you are not willing to go for the super sophisticated cocktail bars around town.
Scotch & Sofa is somewhat of a neighbourhood bar. The crowd is mostly comprised of laid back, early 30s locals. It can get quite mixed though, depending on the night. It IS a Prenzlauer Berg bar, so expect it to be a little preppier than neighbourhood bars in Kreuzberg, Friedrichshain or Neukölln.
The main room is smoke free, however there is a downstairs room where folks can smoke. Take your pick.
What to order at SCOTCH & SOFA NEIGHBORHOOD BAR: Whisky based cocktails or just plane old Whisky
