Berlin foodies and meat lovers, THE PIT Pop up Texas Barbecue is a sensational new addition to Berlin’s maturing American Barbecue culture. According to Adam, the owner of the pop up restaurant and a Dallas native, he only uses very special meat pieces/cuts, salt, pepper and smoke. And let us tell you. The result is to die for. The moist and melting meat is one of the most flavourful we have ever had in Berlin.
As Adam unwrapped the gigantic Wagyu Beef (20 HOURS in the smoker), our mouths dropped. As he cut it, we could not help but salivate to the point of dehydration. Finally we tasted it and all the people passing by could hear was a chorus of “Hmmms” and “Ahhhhs” from our table. Boy, this is one tasty barbecue! The official name of the cut is “Bone In Chuck Roll”, which makes it even cooler, ha? All meat cuts (yes, there are more) are served with coleslaw, bread roll and sauce on the side. Trust me, though, that meat does NOT need any sauce.
Currently the popup is located at the Muse Berlin in Prenzlauer Berg and moves around town often. Keep checking back on their Facebook page for more info. We were so excited about the quality of the meat that we ended up not exploring the Bar. Next time, maybe.
