Such the cool French restaurant! We adore LA BONNE FRANQUETTE BRASSERIE.
Since we discovered it in our neighborhood, we like to make a point to go back as often as we can (sometimes it is hard with so many options to try around town). Located on Chausseestrasse (a continuation of Friedrichstrasse) just take the U6 to Naturkunde Museum stop and it is right there! They used to be open for lunch, but now they only open for dinner.
LA BONNE FRANQUETTE BRASSERIE is a restaurant that could have come straight out of Paris.
The menu is filled with French classics (minimally edited) and all of them (the ones we tried so far) are delicious. The French expression “à la bonne Franquette” loosely translated means to do things without bells and whistles. This place accomplishes that with flying colors. Whether you order Moules (mussels), Entrecôte Frites or Tartare de Boeuf you will end the meal wishing there was more.
Pick a good wine and you are set! Make sure to order their Crème Brûllée trio for dessert.
The ambiance is friendly and the decor is beautiful. You can immediately spot a few modern touches in the midst of some classical French elements. Make sure you look up at the ceiling, which still has part of its original East Berlin details.
**At the time of this publication the area around the restaurant was going through some significant redevelopment. Do not be discouraged if you encounter a few construction areas around it.
What we like to order at LA BONNE FRANQUETTE BRASSERIE: Steak Tartare or Entrecôte or Mussels. Yum!
