We cannot describe how happy we were when we discovered this place right after we had moved to Berlin. If you ever catch yourself craving juicy American barbecue this is the place to go in Berlin. Forget about the stuff you get from places like Tonny Roma’s. Here you will get the real deal and in a sensationally relaxed and fun atmosphere. Lucky for us it is about a 7 minute walk from home. : )
Chicago Williams Barbecue is a small, casual and yet comfortable restaurant located off Chauseestrasse/Torstrasse on a relatively quiet street in Mitte. Just take the U6 Subway line to Oranienburger Tor. That will put you about 5 min away (walking) from this barbecue oasis!
They stand for quality BBQ paired with the best craft beer. As you come in (be sure to make reservations!) you are welcomed with a cup of homemade soup. Offering a wide selection of beers (mostly hoppy German ales – uncommon) it will be no easy task to select one. Ask the super friendly (and busy) staff! The menu is very simple. Choose between ribs, brisket, pulled pork, chicken or sausages. Get some cole slaw or gravy with mash on the side! The baked beans sometimes are delicious, but have been inconsistent lately. Desserts are also very good, but there is a good chance you will be stuffed before that.
These guys are super passionate about what they offer and you can feel it right away! Hands down one of our favorite places in the whole city.
What we like to order at Chicago Williams Barbecue: Ribs, of course! Side of slaw, mash and gravy.
