Bosco is the new venture from the Da Baffi guys. Da Baffi was one of the coolest Italian restaurants in town and was located in Wedding. But unfortunately had its doors closed in late 2014. We were super excited, however, to hear they would open a new restaurant. This time in Kreuzberg. And we were even more excited to find out the new location was just across the street from one of our favourite craft beer bars, Hopfenreich. In fact, we had a couple of beers before going to Bosco the first time we were there. Better do it afterwards. : )
Back to Bosco. This nice Italian bistro is located just a short 5-minute-walk from Schlesisches Tor Station (U1) on Wrangelstrasse. This atmospheric corner location is extremely inviting and cozy. The design is tasteful, somewhat casual and cool. We particularly like the neon sign against the white tile wall across the bar.
The menu is beautifully thought out and focuses on contemporary Italian dishes. Bosco prides itself in using only seasonal and beautiful ingredients. All the dishes we tried were on point and very tasty. Presentation was gorgeous and portion sizes were ideal. We were particularly happy with the artichoke salad with Parmesan and mint. Yum!
They offer the classic Italian Antipasti, Primi, Secondi, Dessert dining scheme. You should order according to your hunger level, though. Additionally they serve a 6 course degustation menu. We must confess, however, that we have still to try it. Let us know if you do!
Some of our friends felt the dishes were a little pricey. We felt it was adequate given the level of quality and care.
What to order at Bosco Italian Bistro: Menu varies with a certain frequency, so go with your “gut”! Or ask for suggestions! You won’t be disappointed.
