FIVE ELEPHANT COFFEE BAR - AWESOME BERLIN

FIVE ELEPHANT COFFEE BAR

Comfort third wave coffee in a peaceful location

We are huge fans of FIVE ELEPHANT. It is tucked away in a quiet leafy street in cool Kreuzberg between Görlizter Park and the Landwehrkanal. Not only because it is located in a little oasis but also because they serve excellent coffee (which is roasted on the premises). Their coffee is consistently ranked among the best in Berlin, so much so that they sell their coffee to other well-known cafés around town. On top of that they offer some of our favorite homemade cakes in town.

We believe they offer the best cheesecake in town, hands down. Other cakes on offer depend on what is in season and locally available but include apple, carrot, pear and chocolate. Truth is we have only had amazing coffee/cake pairing experiences here. This modest third wave coffee shop is known for being passionate about the excellence of its products. And it shows.

The atmosphere is super laid back. Once we were waiting for our cake and a customer that had just ordered his coffee took out his guitar and started playing. The place is so chill that no one seemed to notice and that was a common occurrence.

Laptops are banned from the front room (a common practice among Berlin “third-wavers”).  If the weather allows make sure to sit on one of the tables on the sidewalk, where you can do whatever you want, including use your laptop.
