PARKER BOWLES

With a name like Parker Bowles (reference to Isherwood’s character on  the book Goodbye to Berlin), this place  was destined to win our hearts from the start. Located on Moritzplatz it is very conveniently located close to the U8 Ubahn stop (Moritzplatz). This asian fusion restaurant is a great stop before exploring Kreuzberg (during the

Yarok – Delicious Syrian Deli in Mitte

Located on Torstasse between Rosenthaler Platz and Friedrichstrasse, YAROK SYRIAN DELI is our local Syrian food favorite.  For some reason Torstrasse is one of the few areas in Mitte that has been “somewhat” protected from gentrification. And places like Yarok is what gives the neighborhood the character that we love so much.

The Barn Coffee – a Berlin craft coffee institution

THE BARN COFFEE ROASTERS was our first contact with the Berlin Third Wave Coffee scene. And to this day it is still one of our favorites. They have two stores. The original tiny and incredibly cosy and cute coffee shop on the corner of Augustrasse and Grosse Hamburger Strasse and its Big Brother, the very cool and spacious roastery in Prenzlauer

WIENER BROT BAKERY

Germany is a bread nation. They produce over 300 varieties of dark and white breads. Feel like sampling some of them? WIENER BROT BAKERY is a good option if you find yourself wandering the streets of the gallery district in Mitte. Although they do sell their bread in a few other stores in Berlin, this is where you will find the soul of bread

Cocolo Authentic Japanese Ramen Noodles

Hands down the best ramen (noodle soup dish) in town. Cocolo Authentic Japanese Ramen has two locations. The original location in Mitte is tiny and very atmospheric. The entrance is not clearly market so look for the neon lights saying “Next to…”. They are located next to Kuchi, a fun and casual Japanese retaurant we also love.

DISTRIKT MÔT SAIGON STREET FOOD

We always look forward to going back to this fun restaurant in a funky corner of Berlin Mitte. “Saigon street food” is the promise of Distrikt Môt. And boy, do they deliver! From the extensive street food menu (sometimes overwhelming) to the funky decor (even the smell – not a bad thing in this case) they make you feel as if you
