Kaschk craft beer bar is a welcome addition to the fast growing Berlin craft beer scene. This one has a super Scandinavian feel to it, though. One of the interesting things about this place is that it works as a coffee bar (from the same owners of Oslo Kaffebar – one of our favorites) until 6PM and after that it transforms itself into a super cool craft beer bar. It is located inside an ultra modern black building, right at the heart of Mitte off of Rosa-Luxemburg-Strasse U-bahn station, just south of the amazing Torstrasse.
They have quite a wide selection of local and Scandinavian brews on tap and bottle. We are always partial to tap, though. The last time we were there, they even had a super strong IPA from Norway (10% alcohol!!) that was very tasty. If you are not sure, just ask the super friendly staff for recommendations. Once in a while they offer bear tasting events that usually sell out quickly, so keep an eye out.
The ambiance is very cozy with some communal tables mixed with normal seating arrangements. The decor is dominated by industrial vintage and wooden elements. Not to be missed is the downstairs Shuffleboard area, where you get to play this interesting bar culture game. They even hold championships here sometimes.
